Dawa was a great companion and certainly took good care of us when it came to food, accomodations, and checking in if we weren't feeling well. A bonus is he's an excellent photographer and got some excellent shots of us which he shared with us after. As a downside, Dawa's english isn't great so although we understood each other, the conversations were kept to simple topics only. We did the annapurna circuit which has a lot of road option. Dawa's preferred route is to travel on the road rather than the trails which threw us off the first couple of days. I think it was well intentioned since the road is easier than the trail but it wasn't what we wanted and it was difficult to communicate why because of the language barrier. Have a map and discuss the routes you want to take the night before and throughout your day otherwise you will be left dissapointed and sucking the exhaust and dust of jeeps and trucks that constantly drive by.
