Food & Lodging
In order to provide you with the best possible price and to get as much money as possible directly to the people who are actually doing the work, we do not charge you in advance for teahouse lodging and food. The guide will be able to book accommodation for the group in advance during high season. However, you will pay the teahouse owner directly for food and lodging. Budget at least $25 a day for food and lodging to be paid in cash directly to the teahouse. Estimated food & lodging for this trip $425 per person.
Transportation
For 'Guide & Permit Only' treks we do not include transportation to/from the trail head. Your guide will help you arrange transportation to the trail head in the case where public bus tickets or a hired private vehicle is required. In addition to your own fare, please pay the fare of your guide and porter (if you have hired one) for public buses and public jeeps. In the case of flights, a fee for the guides transportation is included in the price. You have the option of allowing us to also book your flight this ensures that your guide can be on the same flight. You are also free to book your own flight with the airlines directly if you wish please let us know your flight information if you book your own tickets. If you are on trek in which multiple trekkers have joined we will provide you with the contacts of other members of your trek so that you can arrange your transportation together.- Permits GCAP, Sagarmatha National Park Entry, Local Everest Region Tax, and TIMS Card

Each porter may carry no more than 20 kg (44 lb). One porter is usually enough for 2 people's gear.
Government required insurance covers the porter in case of an accident while on the trip.

The Gokyo Valley is the most spectacular of the Khumbu valleys. With its series of lakes and jaw dropping views of Everest, Gokyo should be a must visit on any trekkers visit to the Khumbu region. As a standalone trek or linking it to the Everest Bascamp trek via the Cho la is trek is sure to impress. If you can spare some extra time take a day hike from Gokyo to the Fifth Lake and climb Ngozumpa Tse. On a clear day, it boasts for one of the best trekking views in the Khumbu.
Side trip via Renjo La: The path via the Renjo La (5340 m) provides a more strenuous route from Gokyo back to Namche Bazaar via the barren and beautiful Bhote Valley, and the Sherpa Village of Thame. Ascending from Gokyo to the Renjo La provides jaw dropping views of Mt. Everest with Gokyo Lake below.
Side trip Overland Start: With roads being extended further into the region there are now a few options for those who want to trek in rather than fly. Starting from Dhap allows you to take in the famed views of Pikey Peak on the trek in before joining the main trail at Junbesi. For the traditionalist, with bus service now extending to Bhandar the classic Jiri start can now be reduced by a day. Starting from Bhandar allows you to follow the route of early climbing expeditions into the Khumbu. While not that high by Himalayan standards, the trekking routes into the Khumbu are surprisingly strenuous. Since the path cuts across the valleys that descend from the high Himalayas, there is a lot of up and down climbing as you climb out of one valley and descend down to a river only to climb out the other side. This area sees far fewer trekkers than the trails above Lukla, but still has a pretty good lodge infrastructure.
Weather Conditions in March
March is the start of the ‘Spring Season’ when temperatures begin to rise from their winter lows. By the end of March, temperatures are significantly warmer at lower elevations and hot air from the valleys tend to create clouds in the mountains during the afternoons. Mornings are generally clear, with the clearest weather coming just after sunrise. At high altitudes, while generally warmer than the previous months snow is still possible, and heavy snow storms in March are not unheard of. Mornings and nights are still cold.
