Lama Dawa is originally from the Solokhumbu region of Nepal near Lukla. He has extensive training in both climbing and rescue techniques. He has completed courses in guiding, first aid, and climbing from the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) and ice climbing from the Khumbu Climbing Center (KCC). Lama also has a helicopter marshal training license and is trained in avalanche rescue. He has taken courses from Nepal Mountaineering Instructors Association (NMIA), Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP), Nepal National Mountain Guides Association (NNMGA), and Nepal Academy of Tourism & Hotel Management (NATHM). He has lead treks and climbs all over Nepal including, Manaslu, Annapurna, Nar-Phu, Langtang, and Everest regions of Nepal. Lama is currently studying to be an International Mountain Guide, and enjoys learning new things.
