At 5416 m (17,769 ft), Thorung La (Thorong La) is one of the most gorgeous passes you will climb in Nepal, but it is also one of the most challenging. The false summits and icy blasts of wind will leave you short of breath, but an incredible sense of accomplishment. On the other side of the pass, the landscape changes dramatically as the descent winds its way down to the holy shrine of Muktinath.
