Pemba is originally from Churikharka, a village near Lukla in the Khumbu (Everest) Region of Nepal. While growing up in the mountains he had roundabout way into life as a trekking guide. He painted thangkas (Buddhist religious paintings) then worked in a hotel in the United Arab Emirates before returning to Nepal and now living in Kathmandu. Pemba still enjoys thangka painting in his free time as well as doing work around the house. He is a government licensed trekking guide and has lead treks throughout the Khumbu (Everest) and Annapurna Regions.

guides fairly and being transparent about the wages they receive. Guides will receive requests only once
a payment has been made. If the guide cannot accept your request you will have the option of taking a different guide or canceling the trek.
