Sir Edmund Hillary is said to have declared Pikey Peak is favorite trekking view point in Nepal. On a clear day it is possible to see as far as Dhaulagiri to the west and Kanchenjunga to the east in addition to Mt. Everest, making it one of the most expansive Himalayan views. While this is short 5 day trip, it does require two very long days of transportation, and the accommodation along the trail is very basic so be prepared.
Mid-September marks the start of the ‘Fall Season’ historically the monsoon would end in mid-September, however in recent years the monsoon has officially withdrawn in early October. While there is a good chance of precipitation, clear skies and lush, rice paddy terraced hills are your spectacular when it is not raining. The chance of rain decreases as the month progresses. The end of the monsoon means there is still a chance of the occasional heavy snowfall at high altitudes. Furthermore, high passes can have a lot of snow that has accumulated over the monsoon.

Pikey Peak Itinerary Reviews
Pikey Peak led by Pasang Dawa Sherpa
The trek was beautiful with great views of Everest and the Annapurna range. Due to unexpected snow we were unable to cross over the summit and had to return back to where we started in Dhap Bazaar. The trek was fairly demanding at times but was a good challenge.
