Pack a lunch and head up to the wild remote upper Gokyo Valley for a taste of the Khumbu without trekkers and teahouses.
The peak of the monsoon is in early August and marks the wettest time of year. Be prepared for lots of rain and wet trails At higher altitudes, the weather is cool and damp. But the clouds are usually the most frustrating part of monsoon trekking. High altitude passes get lots of snow during the monsoon making some passes increasingly difficult to cross.
