The Rolwaling valley runs from west to east along the Tibetan border, separated from its neighbor to the north by the Rolwaling Himal and the 7,134 m (23,406 ft) peak of Gauri Shankar. At the eastern end of the valley is the glacial lake of Tsho Rolpa. Beyond the lake is the Tashi Lapsa a mountaineering pass that joins the region with the Khumbu (Everest Region) to the East.
