Weather Conditions in October

change start

October begins the most popular time to trek, with moderate temperatures, clear skies in the wake of the monsoon, and a low chance of rain and snow. In recent years, the monsoon rains have receded later with weather patterns typically stabilizing in mid-October. While the chance of snow is decreased, there is the possibility of a heavy snowfall at higher elevations. If ill-timed and prolonged, this can make it difficult to cross some passes.

At a glance
On average there are 4 days with precipitation in October. The highest point on the trek is Khopra Danda at 3640 m. During October, expect high temperatures of around 13.6°C (56°F) and lows down to -0.4°C (31°F) at Khopra Danda.
