My name is Clancy. I'm 28 years old, I'm from Australia and I'm a professional musician (singer and guitarist) who also works in disability support. I love gardening and growing fruit, vegetables and herbs. I also have an interest in meditation. I've always wanted to trek through the Himalayas and see Mount Everest. I also would like to visit some monasteries/temples and participate in some meditation practices there if possible.

Sir Edmund Hillary is said to have declared Pikey Peak is favorite trekking view point in Nepal. On a clear day it is possible to see as far as Dhaulagiri to the west and Kanchenjunga to the east in addition to Mt. Everest, making it one of the most expansive Himalayan views. While this is short 5 day trip, it does require two very long days of transportation, and the accommodation along the trail is very basic so be prepared.

Weather Conditions in February

February has a slightly higher chance of precipitation than January and a slight increase in the chance of clouds, but in general it is typically a very dry month. While there is little rain, skies in the hills and valleys further from the high mountains can be hazy from dust and pollution. At high altitudes, temperatures can drop to well below freezing. Even during the day, temperatures may not rise much above freezing, if at all, and the snow that does fall doesn’t melt and can become hard and icy. This can make crossing high passes more difficult. During this season it may be wise to bring crampons or at a minimum a good trekking pole.

At a glance
On average there are 3 days with precipitation in February. The highest point on the trek is Pikey Peak at 4065 m. During February, expect high temperatures of around 5.0°C (41°F) and lows down to -12.0°C (10°F) at Pikey Peak.
